Let's start with the design of the Redmi Buds 3 Pro, with the charging box that winks at Google's Pixel Buds. The headphones have the in-ear style capsule design, which can rely on the algorithm of active noise cancellation (ANC) with values up to -35dB and the transparency mode, which allows us to emphasize the sound frequencies of the surrounding member. The big news of the Redmi Buds 3 Pro from this point of view, however, is certainly the quick charging: with only 10 minutes here is up to 3 hours of operation. Not bad!
Speaking of recharging, it takes place via the entrance Type-C or wireless. The integrated Bluetooth 5.2 technology guarantees very low latency (particularly useful in gaming sessions). Also noteworthy is the function that allows pair the Redmi Buds 3 Pro with two devices at the same time, even on different platforms such as Android and iOS, and the wearability sensor, with which it is possible to play / pause the music track when the earphone is removed or inserted into the ear.
But how do the Redmi Buds 3 Pro sound? Well, very well: thanks to the 9 mm dynamic drivers, which guarantee a balanced and clean sound, characterized by full-bodied lows and highs without distortion. There is no aptX-HD codec, but crystal clear sound is guaranteed by the codec SBC e AAC (the latter super also suitable for iOS devices). Also excellent are the 3 microphones on each headset, which can be used independently of each other.
According to reports from Chinese sources, the Redmi Buds 3 Pro achieved a minimum latency of 69 ms. Maybe it will seem like a lot, but in reality this figure turns out to be less than half of that achieved by Apple AirPods Pro, which is the latest model. For the uninitiated, the bitten apple headphones have seen a marked improvement in sound latency going from 274 ms to 178 ms and then to 144 ms with one of the latest updates and thanks to Stephen Coyle's analytics expertise. The headphones the Redmi Buds 3 Pro however have reached 69 ms of latency. An important figure, which makes them even more interesting.
Returning for a moment to the ANC function, present in the headphones in question, it is available in 3 different modes / levels. These vary according to the type of environmental noise that surrounds us: it ranges from use in the office to shops, passing by metro or plane. To manage the ANC function is theAI, which automatically adapts them according to the environment in which we find ourselves.
Although they support the ANC, i.e. active noise reduction, this feature is not usable by everyone. As reported on the site, in fact, only Xiaomi and Redmi smartphone owners with MIUI can use it.
