Redmi K30 Pro will adopt the new UFS 3.1 memory, the controversy on Mi 10 Pro begins

With the new Redmi K30 Pro behind the doors, the Chinese brand has started the typical promotional campaign that reveals the different specifications of the device every day. Yesterday in particular, Redmi announced several such as the 3.5mm audio jack, pop-up camera with internal UFS 3.1 memory.

Redmi K30 Pro will adopt the new UFS 3.1 memory,

The latter specification, the internal memory of the UFS 3.1 type, is the one that started a controversy in China. Several Xiaomi fans were in fact surprised that the top of the Redmi range can be more performing, at least on paper, than that of the parent company. We obviously refer to the Xiaomi Mi 10 / Mi 10 Pro which adopts UFS 3.0 type memory, therefore a previous generation compared to the one we will find on the K30 Pro.

The UFS 3.1 standard offers improvements compared to UFS 3.0 both from a performance and energy point of view, with reduced consumption thanks to the Write Booster technology which uses non-volatile SLC cache to increase speed, DeepSleep technology to decrease the consumption when not in use and the Performance Throttling Notification technology that allows the memory to notify if there are slowdowns due to high temperatures.

Now you will agree that all the colors that have just purchased a Xiaomi Mi 10 or Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro are not very happy to see a potentially cheaper device like the Redmi K30 Pro with a more advanced technology. In any case, the differences between UFS 3.1 and UFS 3.0 are not as substantial as one might think and this above all thanks to the implementation of Turbo Write technology on UFS 3.0 which as for UFS 3.1 creates a "cache area inside the memory ". The performance of the cache area is obviously better, with the data it can be received and stored faster, offering the Mi 10 a sequential write capacity of up to 730 MB per second.

So between Xiaomi Mi 10 and Redmi K30 Pro we could have a negligible difference regarding the performance of the internal memory.

As for the other specifications, in the last few days we have had confirmation that the K30 Pro will adopt the new and performing Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, together with LPDDR5 type RAM. The smartphone will equip a front camera hidden inside the chassis and with a pop-up mechanism, as for K20 Pro. While on the back we will find four cameras with the main having a maximum resolution of 64MP, therefore almost certainly the Sony IMX686 sensor that we find on the basic version of the K30.

Finally, how suggested yesterday, we should find a battery of at least 4200mAh and fast charging with a minimum power of 33W.
