Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition will have two magnetic levitation buttons

As we learned yesterday, Redmi will release its first gaming phone called “Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition” on April 27th.

Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition will have a "space" cooling system, other specifications confirmed

Today we discover that the improved version for gaming of the Redmi K40 will not only have a VC liquid cooling system and a super large graphene area necessary for e-sports, but also manages to solve a very common problem on smartphones: the heat dissipation in the antenna area.

Redmi said the new device uses for the first time a new material from the Space Shuttle, hexagonal boron nitride, also known as "white graphene".

Hexagonal boron nitride is a low dielectric high thermal conductivity material. Since its structure is very similar to graphite with a hexagonal layered structure, it is commonly known as "white graphene". The material also has the characteristics of high temperature resistance. In the aerospace field it is used in aircraft nozzles and rocket engines.

The Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition will have a total of 8 antennas on the metal frame with the lower left 5G antenna being close to the charging port, a restricted area for heat dissipation aboard smartphones.

Also today we also discovered that the smartphone will be equipped with a 67W high-power fast charge, so in this position you must ensure heat dissipation to have good performance of the antenna module.

Unlike traditional graphite materials which are great for conducting electricity and cannot be used to dissipate heat in the antenna area, white graphene is the exact opposite and can therefore be placed in that air to dissipate the heat.

Therefore the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition combines white graphene and graphite into a heat dissipation film through a unique technology to solve the problem of multiple antennas. Especially it can effectively reduce the temperature rise of more than 2 degrees centigrade in the charging area.

Finally, as regards the other specifications, Redmi has confirmed that the smartphone will adopt a 11540 square millimeter VC liquid cooling system that will serve to cool the MediaTek Dimensity 1200.

Recall that the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 is built with a 6 nm manufacturing process and has a flagship 8 core architecture with ”1 + 3 + 4 ″ configuration. The super-large core is a 78GHz Cortex A3.0 with the highest clock speed in the industry, while the GPU is a Mali-G77.

This SoC is able to obtain a score of 720 thousand points on the famous benchmarking platform of AnTuTu, therefore performance very comparable to that of the Snapdragon 870 ..

22 / 04 / 2021 UPDATE

In a new official teaser, Redmi has just revealed that the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition will adopt retractable gaming shoulder buttons that can be activated in game mode and that clearly come in very handy when playing shooter.

At the same time, the shoulder buttons can be perfectly hidden during everyday use, thus allowing us to have a "normal" design for all uses.

Redmi further stated that this pop-up shoulder button design supports instant switching mode, meaning shoulder button output is nearly instantaneous in game mode, making very precise 4-finger control available.

Also according to the brand, these pop-up buttons on the shoulder are a better solution than rigid shoulder buttons. Clearly it is also the most difficult solution to produce and which affects the space inside the device.

Finally, perhaps the most interesting peculiarity is that these buttons are inspired by the magnetic levitation train. In fact, we find high quality neodymium boron and iron magnets that can never be demagnetized. This alloy has characteristics such as small size, lightness and strong magnetism, it is also the magnet with the best performance / price ratio.
