La Redmi Note 12 series arrived in Italy with four different devices. The "largest" among these is the Redmi Note 12 Pro + 5G characterized by a main camera from 200 megapixel and a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 processor. But how will the camera behave? DxOMark experts have some valued the capabilities, revealing that it is a great cameraphone for the price range.
How are the cameras of Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G? The "largest" of the Notes is tested by DxOMark and receives a very good score
The laboratory experts tested the shooting capabilities of the smartphone Redmi Notes 12 Pro + 5G. Over 2.500 shots were taken to evaluate the camera's performance in various usage scenarios. The smartphone was not included in the list of the best devices with a 200 megapixel camera and got into the top 10 in its price range. Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is equipped with three cameras. The main sensor with a resolution of 200 megapixels, aperture f / 1,65 and an optical format of 1 / 1,4″ is equipped with an OIS module. An ultra wide angle from 8 megapixel it has a viewing angle of 120° and an aperture of f/2.2. The third camera is required for macro photography. Its resolution is 2 megapixel (f/2.2) The smartphone is capable of recording 4K video at 30 fps.
When testing a 200-megapixel camera, experts expected a wide range of image scaling, but it didn't always address this scenario. In low light, the photos have lost detail and the digital noise level turned out to be high. The disadvantages of the photographic module were also related to artifacts in the form of halos, color quantization (the appearance of a sharp transition between shades), relatively slow autofocus in low light conditions and chromatic aberration in ultra wide-angle shots.
In daylight conditions, the image quality corresponds to the standard. The camera demonstrates a reliable exposure selection and in complex contrasting scenes with backlighting, in most cases there are no highlights and too dark areas. Experts also attributed a small amount of noise in daylight as a strong point of the smartphone. When shooting movies, the picture is good, but lacks detail. The manufacturer has tried to remedy the situation with aggressive processing, and this is clearly visible. Another disadvantage is the gradual change in exposure. Of the positive aspects, experts have noted a Fast autofocus in well lit scenes and excellent optical stabilization.
In all tests, Redmi Note 12 Pro+ ranked seventy-fourth in the global ranking, and eighth in its price category, positioning itself between Oppo Reno 8 5G and Nothing Phone (1).
