Redmi Note 12S global coming this month with MediaTek chip (leak)
According to the latest from Xiaomi, the Redmi Note 12 family will include a new model called Redmi Note 12S. The leak comes from well-known blogger Kacper Skrzypek, who revealed some details about the device. In particular, he said that the device should be unveiled in the second quarter of 2023, with a launch on the European market already this month or at the latest in April.
According to the informant, the code names of Redmi Note 12S would probably be "Sea" and "Ocean". The Redmi Note 12S is said to be equipped with a MediaTek chip, but it is not yet certain which chip it is. It's also unclear whether the device will support 4G or 5G connectivity. The Polish leakster also said that he learned from a Xiaomi distributor in Europe that the Redmi Note 12S will officially go on sale in mid-May.
Recall that the previous Redmi Notes 11S it debuted in February 2022 positioning itself as a mid-range device. The smartphone comes with a 6,43-inch display, a Full HD + resolution, a refresh rate of 90Hz, a touch sampling rate of 180Hz and a maximum brightness of 1000nit.
As for performance, the Redmi Note 11S comes with a MediaTek Helio G96, while for photos, the device integrated a 108MP main sensor, the Samsung ISOCELL Bright HM2 with a size of 1/1.52 inch. The main camera is coupled with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 118-degree viewing angle, a 2MP lens for taking macro photos, and a 2MP sensor used for taking blur effect photos. For selfies, there's a high-quality 16MP camera.
Finally, from the point of view of autonomy, the Redmi Note 11S is equipped with a large 5000mAh battery and supports fast charging with a maximum power of 33W. The smartphone has NFC functionality, a 3.5mm audio jack and an infrared ray emitter.
