DxOMark experts first examined the performance of the screen under direct sunlight exposure. Despite the promises, it turned out that the readability and color fidelity suffer a significant decline, highlighting a vulnerability of the device in conditions of strong external light.
In the context of watching videos in HDR, the Note 13 Pro+ 5G showed a natural color reproduction. However, despite this color fidelity, the brightness doesn't seem to be up to par, leaving the user with the feeling that something is missing for a fully satisfying viewing experience.
With regard to the reactivity, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G display proved to live up to expectations, with a fast and precise touch response. Nonetheless, during gaming sessions, some issues such as image tearing and ghost clicks at the edges of the screen, shadows that can disturb the player's immersion.
An indisputable strong point is the almost total absence of flickering, even at low brightness levels, thanks to an excellent PWM index of 1930 Hz. This aspect, together with a high score in color reproduction, places the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G at the top of its category for some key aspects of visual quality .
Despite its excellent performance in specific sectors, the device ranks only one hundred and sixth in the general DxOMark ranking, placing fourteenth place among smartphones in its price range. This positioning highlights an area of improvement for Redmi, which may focus on optimizing brightness and color management in bright conditions for future iterations.
