Redmi Note 9 Pro and Pro Max: stripped in the first official teardown

A few days ago we witnessed the official (online) release of the new top of the range Redmi or the Notes redmi 9 Pro, accompanied by his older brother Pro Max (all the details and differences between the two in this article). The quality of these two smartphones is undoubted: new generation processor, huge battery, photographic compartment of envy, fingerprint reader on the side, cool cooling technology ... in short, a mister phone. But how will it be inside? To the most tech-savvy, Manu Kumar Jain gives a gift: the first official teardown made by him of this device.

Xiaomi's global VP shows us the Redmi Note 9 Pro without veils: no secrets for the new top of the range

Before continuing, we remind you that according to the latest rumors one of the two models could come to us with another name. Below is the video of the Xiaomi India MD.

Just to start the ninety piece of the brand, he gives us a recap of the general characteristics of the smartphone which, however, we will do gradually. The first thing he shows us is the side B of the new born in the Redmi house Note: in particular, it highlights (on the left) the enormous 5.020 mAh battery and speakers (right) positioned lower. It is important to remember that Redmi Note 9 Pro has the largest and most capacious battery ever mounted by a device from the Redmi Note range: immediately after him we have that of the Redmi Note 8 Pro. Why do we name it? Because despite the difference in terms of capacity, the two devices have the same thickness: 8.8 mm. As for the charging technology, the Pro can be recharged with one power of 18W.

Secondly, Manu shows us the part dedicated to cooling the device. This is formed by a kind of sheet that absorbs and dissipates the heat of the battery so as not to raise temperatures even when the Redmi is under a lot of effort. It is no coincidence that the processor mounted on this smartphone is a gaming processor, which supports certain loads. Underneath this is the heat-conducting paste and the copper panel which helps heat dissipation.

The third thing that Manu shows us is the strength of the new Redmi: the photographic sector. In the square module, as we know, we find 4 sensors from 48 (main) + 8 (ultra wide-angle up to 119 °) + 5 (macro, 2 to 10 cm) + 2 (depth sensor) megapixels. The first thing we notice when seeing the four sensors is the size of the main one: this makes us understand why an increasingly large traffic light is needed on the back of mobile devices. Recall that the Redmi Note 9 Pro, as well as the Pro Max, has the ability to capture photographs in RAW format (as well as l'Oppo Find X2 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 10). One thing he wants to point out is that the whole square module, which we call the "patch" is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for maximum protection.

Immediately below the cameras we find the motherboard: the CPU, memory, 16 megapixel (Pro) and 32 megapixel (Pro Max) selfie camera and the IR sensor are housed here. As for the processor we have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G with 8 nm construction process, which translates into excellent performance as well as excellent autonomy; respect the memory we have the versions 6 GB RAM 62/128 GB ROM and 8 GB 128 GB ROM that they use LPDDR4X type RAM and UFS 2.1 type ROM.

Below we find the brand new engine of Z-axis linear vibration which moves perpendicular to the display, providing a haptic feedback present only on top of the range devices. For the front we have, as known, a central hole where the single camera is housed and as well as the rear cameras also the display is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
