DxOMark announced the launch of a new type of device classification - laptops. Experts talked about the criteria for testing mobile PCs, aimed at evaluating the real user experience, and not at comparing the dry numbers of Geekbench and other similar applications. One of the first devices to be valued (for now 14 in all) is the RedmiBook Pro 15 (2022). Let's see what the experts think.
RedmiBook Pro 15 (2022) review by DxOMark experts sheds light on the laptop: is it as bomb as it seems or not?
RedmiBook Pro 15 (2022) Ryzen Edition features a display from 15,6 inches with a resolution of 3200×2000 pixels, a refresh rate of 90Hz, a peak brightness of 400 nits and a coverage of 100% of the sRGB color space. Also, the laptop has received a 720p webcams and a pair of built-in 2W speakers.
During the tests, the experts compiled a list of strengths and weaknesses of the device. The first includes a good clarity and a natural tonal balance in voice recording and effective suppression of background noise during video calls, as well as very good SDR picture quality with accurate color reproduction and high contrast levels.

The main disadvantages are the low facial exposure in all conditions (especially in backlit scenes), image capture not suitable for video calls, the lack of HDR support and the maximum volume limited. Based on the test results, RedmiBook Pro 15 (2022) Ryzen Edition scored 118 points, ranking on the ninth post among 14 tested at the time of the news release.
It is worth pointing out the evaluation criteria of the laboratory. The test set includes the following categories:
- Camera: A measure of image quality, including exposure, skin tones, and other metrics.
- Display: evaluation of the panel in terms of daily use (similar to smartphones)
- Audio: Evaluation of microphone and speakers in different scenarios
