As scheduled, Asus has just unveiled its new flagship smartphone, the Zenfone 10, a small smartphone with a powerful processor and an innovative camera with gimbal stabilization.

ASUS Zenfone 10

The Zenfone 10 is the successor to the Zenfone 9, which already impressed with its elegant design. The new model maintains the same frontal appearance, with a 5,9-inch AMOLED display and introduces several innovations under the body and on the back.

At the hardware level, the Zenfone 10 mounts the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. This means it offers faster processing speed (+15%), better gaming experience (+20%) and lower heat dissipation (+15%) than the previous generation. The Zenfone 10 is available in different memory configurations, with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.

The battery of the Zenfone 10 has a capacity of 4300 mAh, which guarantees 13% longer battery life than the Zenfone 9. In addition, the Zenfone 10 supports 30W wired fast charging with HyperCharge technology, which allows you to recharge 50% of the battery in just 30 minutes. But the real novelty is the presence of the 15W Qi wireless charging, which was absent in the previous model and which adds greater comfort and versatility.

The display is also one of the strengths of the device, thanks to its quality and its high refresh rate. It is a AMOLED panel from 5,9 inches with Full HD+ resolution (1080×2400 pixels), which reaches a 144 Hz refresh rate for more demanding games and 120Hz for other applications. The display is also calibrated for the DCI-P3 color space, has a Delta-E color accuracy of less than 1, a maximum brightness of 1100 nits and Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

The Zenfone 10 is also distinguished by its rear design, which features a nameplate with the Asus logo and a circular camera with three sensors. Asus introduced two new colors – Eclipse Red and Aurora Green – in addition to the classic Midnight Black, Comet White and Starry Blue.

The rear camera of the Zenfone 10 consists of a 50MP main sensor with f/1.9 aperture and 24mm equivalent focal length, a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with 113 degree field of view and a 32 MP front sensor. The most interesting feature is the presence of the second generation six-axis hybrid gimbal stabilization on the main sensor, which allows you to get sharper shots and smoother videos even in low light or motion.

The gimbal system works in conjunction with optical and electronic image stabilization, shifting the sensor slightly based on the vibrations detected by the gyroscope. This minimizes blurring and achieves greater stability. Asus has also implemented a Light Trail mode, which uses the gimbal to create artistic effects such as light trails, glowing graffiti and long exposure waterfalls without the use of a tripod.

Asus has also taken care of the ecological aspect of the Zenfone 10, creating a sticker-free package and using recycled paper and soy ink. Inside the box are the Zenfone 10, a USB-C cable, a 30W charger and a protective cover.

The Zenfone 10 is already available on Asus website and at selected sales partners, starting from 799 euros for the basic 8/128 GB version. The other memory variants are priced at 849 € (on offer to 799 €) for the 8/256GB version and 929 € (on offer to 849 €) for the 16/256GB version.

The Zenfone 10 bills itself as one of the best compact smartphones on the market, offering a smooth experience, a long-lasting battery, an innovative camera and an elegant design. It is a device that has nothing to envy to larger and more expensive competitors, and that could win over users looking for a compact and powerful top of the range. What do you think?
