Snapdragon 888 Pro already in the works, but it's not for everyone | Rumor

Apparently Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Pro would exist and would also be almost ready to debut. The news comes to us from Digital Chat Station, well-known informer of the tech field and in particular of smartphones. According to the latest news from Qualcomm, there would have been no more powerful processor than the current 888 flagship. But things, as we know, are different when it comes to different markets. And indeed, the SoC in question will not be for everyone according to the leaker. Let's see the details.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Pro would exist according to Digital Chat Station, but its use will be exclusive to China. Is it good?

According to the news the Chinese leaker gave us Digital Chat Station, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Pro is expected to debut in the Q3 period of 2021. Potentially, therefore, we will see it starting from September. But there is a but. We are wondering which smartphones will integrate it. Being a flagship it is clear that it will be adopted by top of the range Xiaomi, Oppo, live and company. But which ones? In reality, the matter is more complicated than it may seem.

According to the words of Digital Chat Station, the processor in question would be a Chinese exclusive. At least with the name Snapdragon 888 Pro we may not see it. Clearly though, we're used to smartphone rebrands, as well as processor rebrands. It is not excluded that what in China will be called Snapdragon 888 Pro, will be renamed by us as Snapdragon 895.

In any case, the improvements that are expected on this new processor (probably built by Samsung) will be: higher refresh rate, lower lithographic process e non-existent overheating. We underline this last point as news about the 888 model overheating on Xiaomi smartphones are coming out, for no reason.

It goes without saying that it is just a rumor, at the moment. The news is to be taken with a grain of salt considering the fact that we have no official status from Qualcomm.
