July will be remembered by all the Fans in a melancholy way, as as you well know the MIUI development team has definitively abandoned the Global Beta project, due to the low number of feedbacks received from users. Although in the first place the company has declared to continue instead the China Beta branch, for well 15 smartphone comes instead a new announcement that changes the cards on the table.
Yes, Xiaomi has announced a drastic cut in the development of Chinese ROM, so starting with the 5 October 15 smartphone will cease to receive support from China Developer. In particular, the affected devices are:
- Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X
- Xiaomi Mi Pad 3
- Redmi 4X
- Redmi Note 5A
- Redmi Notes 5A Prime
- Xiaomi Mi 5C
- Xiaomi Mi Max 2
- Xiaomi Mi Note 2
- Xiaomi Mi MIX
- Xiaomi Mi 5s
- Xiaomi My 5s Plus
- Redmi 5 Plus
- Xiaomi Mi 5X
- Redmi 5A
- redmi 5
At the moment these are the smartphones for which only the stable update will be available, and therefore perhaps also for the Custom ROMs Xiaomi.eu or MIUI.it the time will come to terminate development and move on to other terminals. Unfortunately with the passage of time, this sad destiny of abandonment to the DEVELOPER support, will also touch on other terminals, once the 12 period of months from their marketing will be exceeded.
Stop even MIUI China Beta updates while Xiaomi Mi 9 gets a full update
For those who have purchased the excellent Xiaomi Mi 9, here comes some good news as a new update is being distributed regarding the MIUI Global Stabile, which introduces the security patches in June but also new additions as well as optimizations.
MIUI 10.2.27.0 version PFAEUXM with a weight of 613 Mb brings with it the novelty of the pocket mode for the lock screen, a function that prevents the device from turning on, off or performing unwanted activities while we keep it in a pocket, backpack or bag. How many times have you ever found a crazy device in your hands?
Another novelty concerns the ability to customize the "skin" of the clock. Just go to Settings> Lock screen and password> Advanced Settings and find the option to customize the look of the watch. At the moment third-party themes are not supported but who knows if the situation will not be unlocked in the future perhaps by alternative ROMs such as Xiaomi.eu.
Stopping the beta because of low number of feedback?
When we SCREAM about the connectivity bug that affects cell standby years now, why don't they fix it? LTE-TD-SCDMA default when there is no TD-SCDMA in EU?
True, same for battery drain.
