According to what has been leaked, the new Surge S2 should benefit from the TSMC 16 nm production process, and consequently all the advantages in terms of energy savings deriving from it. Its architecture includes two clusters of four cores each, the first with four A53s with maximum clock to 1.8 GHz, and the second with Cortex A73 core at 2.2 GHz for the most demanding calculation operations.
The GPU should be Mali G71MP8, while the supported memory types are LPDDR4 for RAM and UFS 2.1 for ROM. All this for a very similar performance to Huawei's Kirin 960, a SoC that stands out for its performance and reliability.
