TCL: OLED TVs will be ink-jet printed

Users' homes will always be different and with them habits, spaces and everything inside will change. Likewise, accessories will also change and televisions are among the objects that are already seeing a huge evolution right now. Think of the rollable television of LG: a revolutionary technology that, however, today is a museum with more than € 80.000 for one panel. TCL goes against the trend compared to LG and thinks of a whole new technology that aims at saving: OLED TVs printed with ink-jet. This is a new method that would cost and pollute less.

TCL televisions will be produced, from 2024, with ink-jet technology, i.e. they will be printed on composite material

On the occasion of the "International OLED Industry Conference”Held in China, TCL Huaxing R&D General Manager stated that in a Guangzhou plant production of OLED televisions printed with this new technology is underway which in addition to being less expensive, would also be easier to build. However, it was not easy to develop this technology.

Up to now the company TCL has spent around 6 billion euros on research and development and starting from 2021 the mass production will start. The first goal is to reach a certain quota of television units by 2024. 2021 will be an important year (hoping that the epidemic passes) in as we will also see another technology: that of camera under the display. In this regard, we remind you that Xiaomi will be the first company to make it official on its flagship devices.

Returning to TCL, reportedly, there will be machines that will print panels with a composite material of three RGB colors (red, green and blue). Thanks to this, the image will be simulated. Further details will emerge in the coming months as everything is at a standstill at the moment. What do you think of this interesting technology? Will the company be able to forcefully enter the OLED TV market?
