Stories on Telegram will have the same appearance as on the most popular social networks: a panel with circles will appear above the chat list, where we can see the publications of our contacts and write our own: we will therefore be able to add videos, images, captions and other elements. Users will also have the ability to post reactions and leave comments, just like in regular chats.
For years, our users have been asking us to implement Stories in Telegram. More than half of all feature requests we receive are for Stories.
We were initially against it as Stories are already everywhere. However, Telegram wouldn't be Telegram if we didn't listen to our users and innovate existing formats. The ability to save your stories on the profile page will make Telegram profiles more informative and colorful. Not only will you be able to explore more content from your closest contacts, but finally discover more information about the users you connect with in groups or channel comments.
Speaking of channels, they will benefit from increased visibility and subscribers: once the ability to repost messages from channels to stories is launched, going viral on Telegram will become much easier. Overall, after our internal testing of Stories, even the skeptics on our team have started to appreciate this feature. We can no longer imagine Telegram without it.
