Just yesterday we told you about a leak concerning a terminal called Xiaomi Mi 6S appeared on the well-known benchmark site GeekBench, which would have equipped a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, 6GB of RAM and Android 9 Pie. Well, today that rumor has been denied by the director of marketing for the smartphone of Xiaomi in person on the Chinese social network Weibo.
Xiao Zhiyuan, this is his name, has indeed stated that "there is no Xiaomi Mi 6S", and that therefore it could be a change to the name of another device equipped with the top of the range processor of the past year.
Reflecting on it, a Xiaomi Mi 6S would not make much sense to about 1 a year and a half since the launch of the Mi 6, especially given the already large smartphone portfolio in the Mi 8 series.

In summary we have in fact the original Xiaomi Mi 8 announced in May this year, together with the Mi 8 SE equipped with a Snapdragon 710 and the Explorer Edition with transparent cover and fingerprint sensor under the screen. Then followed by the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite and Mi 8 Pro launched last month.
With all these terminals on the market, which already include top and middle of the range, a Mi 6S with Snapdragon 835 would have been superfluous, and apparently think so also at the Xiaomi headquarters.
Now we just have to try to figure out which terminal has been tested on Geekbench, whether it is really a Xiaomi device or if someone has decided to make fun of the company.
What we know with almost certainty is that the next Xiaomi smartphone will be the top of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 range (here the first teaser) that will surely equip the most performing and less expensive (as regards the battery) Snapdragon 845 and other high-level specifications along with a breathtaking design.
