The display trend from 18: 9, the Redmi series is not looking.

It seems that LG and Samsung, with the release of the latest top of the range characterized by screens18 aspect ratio: 9, have moved the market giving a new alternative to the now proven 16: 9 format; the main competing brands, in fact, seem to take the wake of the two Korean producers by integrating screens with these characteristics into their devices.

Even Google seems to be doing seriously after publishing a post on his blog a while ago "Android Developers" in which it reminded the developers of the importance of making the applications perfectly compatible with this new hardware format.

Xiaomi, after launching the model East Mi Mix 2, that adopts a screen from the height / width ratio of 18: 9, seems to be already at work to incorporate this new feature also on the next models "Redmi".

In fact, according to a Weibo user (microblogging website much followed in China), the small company Tianma would be committed to producing display (of the format mentioned) for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2; However, this rumor was denied by the well-known analyst Pan Jiutang, which excluded the possibility that those panels were intended for that model.

Tianma says, however, that the panels in production will be destined for the next Xiaomi Redmi device, for sure it will mount a screen of these proportions.

After this statement comes automatically to ask what Redmi is talking about. The most credited assumptions take for granted that they are referring to the models Redmi 5 Plus e redmi 5.

Even the rumors from the network seem to support this thesis; in any case it would be a probable hypothesis given the recent search for modernization of its devices by Xiaomi who seems to be more and more attentive to design and new market trends.

If so, the new Redmi series would be a good choice for those who have a limited budget but at the same time claim a complete smartphone and in line with the times.
