We often hear that the Android tablet market is dead and that it is years away from what Apple's proposal can offer to its users. Still, a study conducted by the company IDC revealed that in China in the second quarter of 2020, shipments of Android tablets increased by about 630000 units with a percentage increase of 29,9% on an annual basis.

Accomplice of this surge in sales was the lockdown that forced thousands of people to stay at home and have to use online services also for what concerns school lessons. In fact, many students have adopted a tablet as a study companion, with which to carry out research and video calls for online lessons.
Another curiosity about the tablet market is that users have mainly turned to devices with a Qualcomm processor integrated, in particular the Snapdragon 821 and 660 chipsets, certainly not very recent, but definitely still valid for the intended purpose, that is distance learning.
Surely the tablet market will soon be re-evaluated and although judged poorly up to now, in the Android sector it is possible to find many low-cost solutions which in the Apple counterpart is not possible, addressing only a market of the rich and perhaps also poco adopt to technology.
