Official Vivo X90s with Dimensity 9200+ chip, Zeiss T* lenses and 120W fast charge

Vivo has unveiled its new flagship smartphone, the Vivo X90s, which has as its strengths the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ processor, the 6,78-inch OLED curved screen and 120W fast charging. Let's go now to see the features, price and availability of this device.

The vivo X90s takes up the design of the previous standard version X90, with a body in glass or eco-leather with IP64 certification and four colors available: black, blue, red and white. The thickness and weight vary slightly depending on the material and color chosen, but are around 8,5 mm and 200 grams.

The back houses a circular photographic module with the Zeiss T* anti-reflection lenses and the inscription “Xtreme Imagination”. While the front is dominated by one 6,78 inch curved OLED screen with WQHD+ (2800 x 1260 pixels) resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, 453 PPI pixel density and 120H refresh ratez. The screen also supports PWM Dimming at 2160 Hz, peak brightness of 1300 nits, HDR10+, integrated fingerprint sensor and GSG eye protection.

The vivo X90s is one of the first smartphones to feature the MediaTek Dimension 9200+, a 4 nm SoC comprising an octa-core CPU (1 x 3,35 GHz Cortex-X3 + 3 x 3,0 GHz Cortex-A715 + 4 x 2,0 GHz Cortex-A510), a ARM Immortalis-G715 MC11 GPU and a built-in 5G modem. The processor is capable of achieving high scores in benchmark tests, outperforming many models with Snapdragon 8Gen2.

La internal memory is UFS 4.0 type and it's not expandable via microSD. There are three variants available: 8GB RAM 256GB ROM, 12GB RAM 256GB ROM, and 12GB RAM 512GB ROM.

For photos, the vivo X90s has a triple rear camera consisting of: a 866MP Sony IMX50 main sensor with f/1.75 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS); a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.00 aperture and autofocus; a 12 MP telephoto sensor with f/1.98 aperture, 2x optical zoom and autofocus

The rear camera is also equipped with a dToF sensor for laser focus and the vivo V2 co-processor, which offers advanced algorithms for AI noise reduction, HDR Tone Mapping and MEMC.

La front camera is instead a 32 MP sensor with f/2.45 aperture and autofocus, which allows you to take sharp and detailed selfies.

La battery of vivo X90s has a capacity of 4810mAh and supports the quick charge from 120W (even reverse), but not wireless charging. According to the manufacturer, the battery can be recharged from zero to one hundred in just 15 minutes.

The vivo X90s runs with the Android 13 operating system with the OriginOS customization of the Chinese house. OriginOS offers a number of unique features, such as dynamic widgets, customizable control center, full screen multitasking and the Jovi search engine.

As for connectivity, the vivo X90s supports dual SIM 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, dual-frequency GPS, NFC, IR port and USB-C 2.0. However, there is no 3,5 mm audio jack.

The vivo X90s was unveiled today in China but will be officially launched on June 30th. Prices are as follows:

  • 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM: 3999 yuan (about 500 euros)
  • 12GB RAM and 256GB ROM: 4299 yuan (about 545 euros)
  • 12GB RAM and 512GB ROM: 4699 yuan (about 595 euros)

It is not yet known if the vivo X90s will arrive in other markets as well, but it is likely that it will remain exclusive to the Asian market. In any case, we will keep you updated on any news.
