The 2 February Xiaomi presented its flagship smartphone for 2024, the Xiaomi 14Ultra, which promises to revolutionize mobile photography thanks to the collaboration with Leica and Sony's 1-inch sensor. But what is hidden under the body of this device? The YouTube channel answers this question Weki Home, who published a detailed video teardown of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, showing all the internal components and the new features compared to the previous model.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra: the video teardown reveals all the secrets of the new Cameraphone
The video, which lasts about 13 minutes, begins with the disassembly of the back of the smartphone, which can be made of glass or vegan leather, depending on the variant chosen. Here you immediately notice the presence of one new wireless charging coil, supporting 80W power, provided you have the Xiaomi wireless charger. The coil is also equipped with a larger heat dissipation film, to prevent the device from overheating.
Continuing with the disassembly, it turns out that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra has a slightly larger motherboard than the 13 Ultra, to accommodate the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 processor, the Xiaomi AISP neural chip dedicated to photography, and the various antennas for connectivity. The smartphone also has a battery from 5.300 mAh, made with silicon-carbon cells, which guarantees greater autonomy and recharging fast wired at 90 W.
The strong point of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, however, is the photographic sector, which it boasts four sensors of 50 MP each, with Leica Summilux lenses. The main sensor is the Sony LYT-900, 1 inch in size, which offers superior image quality and greater light sensitivity. The sensor also has a variable aperture from f/1.63 to f/4.0, which adapts to different shooting conditions. The other sensors are a periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, a wide angle and a macro.
The video also shows some examples of photos taken with the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which demonstrate the versatility and sharpness of the images. The smartphone is also capable of recording videos in 4K at 60 fps, with optical and electronic stabilization. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is therefore a real cameraphone, which has nothing to envy of professional cameras.
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra was presented yesterday in China, where it will be available from February 28 starting from 5999 yuan (around 780 euros).
