Xiaomi will increase the quality of its products but also the price

The great success achieved by Xiaomi since its creation has been possible thanks to its competitive market policy. More specifically, this market move consists in proposing devices (of various kinds) with characteristics / materials of all respect but at a relatively low price. However, if this has brought a great advantage in terms of notoriety within the Asian continent (and beyond), the new market policy that will be adopted could have the opposite effect, since, if not correctly managed, it could cause (in the worst case) even the bankruptcy of the company.

In fact, as reported by Hugo Barra (Xiaomi CEO of the international division), the company intends to move towards the production of higher quality devices, extrapolating this from his textual words (below):

When you look at the prices of our products, they have been increased. Our customers demand quality products, so we are offering them superior quality products using multiple premium components.

In addition, he also confirmed the news that this year the company will launch a 4000 Yuan smartphone on the market, that is poco more than 540 €. Therefore, it can be deduced that from now on the products of the Chinese brand will be offered at higher prices, as they will be made with higher quality components. However, when asked for further explanations in this regard, he preferred not to comment further.

The first Xiaomi smartphone, the Mi 1, was launched at a 1999 Yuan (2700 €) price and the same can be said of the company's last flagship launched earlier this year (Mi 5) but , as you will know, two other variants have been presented, one of which is characterized by "premium" materials (Mi 5 Pro). With this new market policy, Xiaomi wants to follow Huawei's footsteps, as it has also begun its journey by offering cheap and mid-range smartphones to reach the current premium smartphone smartphone range (P9, Nexus 6P).

While such a move could bring the long-awaited economic benefits (so far, revenue was moderately low for every smartphone sold, especially for the low / mid-range), it would be wise for the company not to stop manufacturing the devices it sold. until now they have created its great success among the public, such as all those belonging to the Redmi series.
