Tiago Effgen, the victim of the accident, was having a conversation with a friend when his Xiaomi smartphone started emitting smoke. Effgen described the traumatic experience, saying he had to remove his pants to further limit the injuries. Surprisingly, the cell phone, which it had three years of use, had shown no previous signs of malfunction, working perfectly until the accident.
