Xiaomi E6 appears on GeekBench: again Snapdragon 625?

According to what we have learned so far, Xiaomi is about to present its next top range to the world, the Xiaomi Mi 7, smartphone that could see the light during theShenzhen event da poco announced by the Chinese company.

It is clear, however, that Xiaomi is not focusing its efforts exclusively on its top range as there are numerous leaks that in recent weeks have been leaked about devices, always signed by the company of Lei Jun, belonging to the medium-low end of the market.

I refer in particular to all the reports leaked by GeekBench, a well-known benchmarking platform, which saw the protagonists first Xiaomi Cereus, then i Xiaomi Cactus e Strakz and, last but not least, only from the late hours of yesterday, even the new Xiaomi E6.

Xiaomi E6, a new Redmi on the horizon?

The Xiaomi E6 is presented in the GeekBench report as a smartphone from the software point of view Android in the 8.1.0 Oreo version. Under the hood, however, hides a quantity of RAM equal to 3 GB and a SoC octa core Qualcomm operating at a clock frequency of 2.0 GHz. The exact model of the chip is not specified, but by virtue of the scores obtained both in single core and in multi core, very similar to those of other Xiaomi devices equipped with Snapdragon 625, it is concluded that this is the solution adopted on the smartphone in question.

Given the technical equipment, the Xiaomi E6 is a smartphone that will most likely belong to the Redmi family of products. Whether it's a whole new smartphone? Knowing the marketing strategies of the Chinese company would not be excluded at all, but it is also true that the Xiaomi E6 could be in fact some international variant, therefore equipped with Android One, smartphones already presented or we have already heard of.

I remind you that the Chinese company is also working on Xiaomi Jasmine and Daisy, two devices belonging to the Android One program, and that the second of these, according to the analysis of XDA - Developers, is equipped with the SoC Snapdragon 625.

It should be said, however, that it is not at all difficult to make false reports on GeekBench and therefore the leak in question could actually be a fake. For the record we have reported the news, but as always we invite you to take everything with due caution. We await future updates on the case, provided that, of course, there are.
