The Chinese giant has set itself the initial goal of studying the market, and then in the coming years to build its own cars. Right there is the Xiaomi headquarters dedicated to Research and Development. The investment for this sector, calculated over the next 10 years for the support of the works, amounts to approx 1,5 billion dollars. In short, the brand believes in it and wants at all costs to enter a sector that has seen exponential growth in recent years.

If the positive feelings were to be confirmed and the growth pervisions as well, the Chinese producer could easily reach an investment of around 10 billion dollars. To lead the research in this sttore will be Lei Jun, Chief Executive Officer of Xiaomi Group. Jun will also be the CEO of the new division.

The ultimate goal is to produce an electric vehicle for the mass market: like any Xiaomi device, this too will feature a very attractive selling price. To try to achieve its goal, the company will collaborate with the automotive manufacturer Great Wall Motor Co Ltd, whose factories it will use.
