Perhaps it was an unwise move to drop this bombshell to coincide with the release of the new gaming phone Black Shark 2 Pro by Xiaomi. Yes, the killer of devices totally devoted to entertainment came out today, but at the same time the dear one Manu Kumar Jain announced through a tweet on social media that Xiaomi has in mind to put on the market in the near future a device always devoted to gaming but with a chipsets that we are not used to seeing on devices of our beloved brand: processor Mediatek Helio G90T. With this tweet from the former ninety piece POCOPHONE, we learn that the Taiwanese business of processors Mediatek, notoriously rival to Qualcomm, today launched two processors that are part of the same family and completely dedicated to gaming: these are the Mediatek Helio G90 and G90T. The company is not new to the launch of this type of products: in fact, at the end of last year it presented a smartphone dedicated to young people who were winking at the videogame world, or the Mi Play. This device mounts a Mediatek Helio P35 that, at the level of scores AnTuTu, it turns out better at the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 but not at the levels of a Snapdragon 636. As regards the characteristics of the processor it is a octa-core Cortex-A53 assisted by a PowerVR GE8320 GPU.
What we learn from the ex's post POCO is that the new processor that will be mounted on the Mi device, or the Mediatek Helio G90T, has a distinctive features Octa-core CPU formed by 2 x Cortex-A76 at 2.05GHz and 6 x Cortex-A55 at 2GHz. The former Indian executive also reveals us the AnTuTu score that many people like to know but which, when choosing a smartphone, matters very little: 220.000 points.
This announcement surprises us, and not a little, considering that it happened at the same time as another gaming phone, the most powerful of the brand, was launched. Strategy or just an announcement for a much more distant event? Perhaps the company's plan is to launch other devices, diversifying the market even more, which also satisfy a young and dynamic segment of users and maintaining low prices.
