It seems a century has passed since the first wearable devices began to appear on the technology scene and giant steps have been taken since then, so that it is increasingly rare to find a device that does not integrate any smart technology, such as cardio monitoring, step counting, sleep monitoring etc .. The fact is that in the current landscape, the so-called wearables are really a lot, but a certainty at a global level is always given back to us by our beloved Xiaomi, or rather Huami with its AmazFit and related products.
Recall that Huami is the producer of the successful Mi Band series, now in its fourth generation, as well as the various wearables that have been officially available in Italy for a few months. At the end of the second four-month period of the year it is time to start summing up and the well-known company IDC will do the same, which has just published a report which analyzes sales in the wearable area. The leaderboard is Xiaomi and Huawei.
Xiaomi leads the wearable market in the Q2 2019
The two companies hold an important slice of the market, leaving behind giants like Apple (if we define it that way). Success lies in proposing decidedly cheaper solutions compared to other brands. Just think of the Mi Band 4 which at an official price of 35 euro has practically nothing to envy to other models in the same category.
Analyzing the IDC report, we can see that Xiaomi holds a market share of 22,9%, almost a quarter of total global sales. Huawei also did its homework well, finishing second with a 22% share. Probably the data will change towards the end of the year and strong growth is expected, also in view of the Christmas holidays, where such gadgets are generally the most popular. But we expect something more from Xiaomi, considering that on September 24, on the occasion of the presentation of Mi Mix alpha and MIUI 11, we could also witness the launch of a smartwatch entirely made by Lei Jun's company, which in recent years could have learned and grasped all the secrets of Huami.
