At the annual summit organized by Qualcomm, Xiaomi's president and co-founder, Lin Bin, revealed that the Xiaomi Mi 10 would arrive in the first quarter of next year. In addition, given that it is the tenth anniversary of the series, the smartphone will be awarded the brand new Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 which will therefore make its international debut.
Xiaomi Mi 10 coming soon with 108MP camera
A few days ago, the French site Frandroid, had reported that the Xiaomi Mi 10 will most likely be presented at the next MWC. So to follow in the footsteps of its predecessor, the Mi 9, announced in Barcelona during the MWC 2019.
But the most interesting rumor is what Xiaomi Mi 10 gives not only with the Snapdragon 865 processor but also with a 100MP image sensor. We are obviously talking about the usual (and unique at the moment) Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX, which to be precise has a resolution of 108MP. So a very advanced sensor that together with the ISP Spectra 480 that we find with the Qualcomm CPU should bring high-level performances from the photographic point of view.
As if that wasn't enough, the ISP Spectra 480 also has an image processing power of 2 billion pixels per second, this allows both to shoot 4K video in 10-bit color mode (more accurate colors and a wider dynamic range) as well that record videos at the incredible resolution of 8K at 30fps.
In any case, the Mi 10 with Samsung camera could return to the top of the DxOMark ranking, where we currently have the Xiaomi CC9 Pro in second position with the same image sensor.
Xiaomi Mi 10: will it have a 120Hz screen?
Finally, always regarding the success of the Mi 9, there are rumors that give it on arrival with a screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, just like the last Redmi K30. Hoping, however, that it is a better quality panel.
We conclude with a small intrigue. That is, the timing of these rumors concerning the 108MP camera on Xiaomi Mi 10, which came out almost simultaneously with those that give the same image sensor on board the next flagship of another Chinese brand: Realme. Is everything planned?
Let's hope they implement the tof sensor and the ability to record video simultaneously, with the front and rear cameras.
