It's been a while since we've talked about them updates that Xiaomi is slowly releasing on its devices, bringing Android Oreo 8.0 and the user experience provided by users. Few lucky have been able to test it in a stable version while others have had to settle for developer or beta versions like the owners of the glorious Mi 5 that after Mi 6 and Mi Mix 2 can now boast the new Google OS.
In particular we talk about the update MIUI 9 in 8.3.12 version who has one size of 1,3 GB even if the changes related to this update have not yet been announced, although it is presumable to think of the same implemented on Mi 6 and Mi Mix 2.
Xiaomi Mi 5 was released on 24 February 2016, uses a 5,15 inch display with Full HD resolution and a processor Snapdragon 820 with RAM from 4 GB pushing up to 128 GB of internal storage. Sony 16 megapixel sensor camera and 3000 mAh battery make the 5 Mi a device still palatable and comparable to today's top of the range. Therefore, the update to Android Oreo can only give new life to the Xiaomi smartphone that has dominated sales for a long time.
The update seems interesting at the moment chosen few but according to a post on the user's social Weibo @Ranger, close to MIUI management, the Mi 5 will soon be updated for everyone after the close beta team has given the case feedback. A novelty emerged from the update to Oreo for Mi 5 concerns the security of the installation of third-party applications choosing separately and no longer unified as a source to allow or refuse.
Furthermore some icons have been updated with the most colorful style of the interface of Apple devices, but above all the first feedback coming from China seems to indicate a better fluidity of the system. What about friends owners of Mi 5, patiently still a little bit ready with the device in hand waiting for the OTA that will catapult you into the magical world of Android Oreo.
With the global stable I will have to wait at least another 3/4 months… but I will gladly be patient to have a nice stable and reliable system.
