Xiaomi Mi A1 will receive Android 9.0 Pie

How many are waiting Android 9.0 Pie on their devices that mount Android One? Well, it seems that yesterday on the known platform Geekbench, which from time to time gives us very nice previews that make us sparkle in the eyes, has appeared a news about it: it seems that the Xiaomi Mi A1 is about to receive the update for Android 9.0 Pie!

The model we find on GeekBench has 4 GB of RAM powered by a Snapdragon 625 chipset.

Let's see in this image how on October 20 the platform has tested the device and how Single-core score is higher to the other tests (all with Android 8.0 or 8.1). In Multi-core, however, the score tends to fall slightly compared to the statistics of the other tests. The reality this test dated 20 October is only the last in chronological order but we know, thanks to the database, that different tests were done in the previous days, tests that have also given better results: we can see it , promising or , promising.

For those who do not remember, let's make a small summary of the news that will bring Android 9.0 Pie:

  • support to the notch: automatic and intelligent organization of icons and toggles in the status bar;
  • adaptive battery: decrease in consumption and increase in autonomy by adjusting brightness, CPU and applications according to the user's daily use;
  • applications like AppTimer o Wind Down: applications through which Google wants to limit the excessive and compulsive use of the smarphone, giving the user an overview of the time of use of the device;
  • gesture: probably never reach the iPhone level but Android 9.0 Pie promises an almost total use of the device through swipe in different directions.

At this moment the Mi Mix 2S is the only Xiaomi model to have the update of Android 9.0 Pie, but with MIUI 10 instead of Android One. The A2 Mi instead, launched only recently, still works on Android 8.1 Oreo. Xiaomi has not yet released any official information on an upcoming update. Probably a couple of months will pass (but hopefully less), before it develops a ROM for Android Pie stable for the Mi A1.
