There is no way, Xiaomi Mi A3 is the most unsuccessful attempt in the history of the brand to integrate Android One. Last April the smartphone had received, after the fourth update, Android 10. The complaints were wasted: brick problems, updates withdrawn, in short, a debacle. After less than a year Android 11 rollout begins for the same device and… still problems. Today a large number of users have begun to report the arrival of the coveted update, which has been requested for months. All satisfied, but the problem is that this has led to the brick of the device.
UPDATES AT THE END OF THE ARTICLE
This Xiaomi Mi A3 is not really worthy of receiving any updates: after the problems with Android 10, now it's the turn of bricked devices with Android 11
On the one hand this matter sheds light onbrand inadequacy to integrate the Android One system on their smartphones. This is perhaps the reason why after one more year nothing is known about the successor of Xiaomi Mi A3. We are not here to list the problems that have plagued the entire Serie A, from the first to the last model. But just remember that many have moved (rather stupidly) by signing a petition on Change.org to make the colossus wake up. But back to the bomb, the model above is in trouble again.
The update we see above with build number V12.0.2.0.RFQMIXM led to the definitive brick of the smartphone. What does it mean: Xiaomi Mi A3 is locked, it does not turn on and there is no way to make it work. At the moment the users stand angrily reporting on the Mi Community Global the problem, so we are confident that the developers are already at work with the withdrawal of the update (for those who have not done so) and the release of a fix.
If you are among those who have not yet updated, we strongly advise not to proceed with the update and to await official news. We will not be long in providing you with them.
SECURITY UPDATE TRAINING
The company communicates which for will proceed to repair of the damage free of charge. Just go to a service center and ask for information.
"Hi Mi fan,
we are aware of the issue on some Mi A3 devices following a recent Android 11 update. We have since stopped launching. We kindly ask users experiencing this issue to visit (or mail the device to) one of our service centers where a solution will be provided free of charge and unconditionally (within or beyond the warranty).
We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. As a brand committed to providing the best possible user experience, we will continually improve our products and services.

UPDATE 2
We are informed which started again on rollout of Android 11, this time without any problem. If you managed to solve the problem, update.
At this point the best solution is that Xiaomi releases a software update that allows all owners of devices with Android One to officially switch to MIUI (being technically possible) in order to definitively close this odyssey.
slvp comment? je voudrais tellement passer vers miui
I too have encountered the problem. phone showing no signs of life for 3 days.
I tried to hard reset, power button + volume up ter about twenty seconds, held the power button for about ten seconds 2 or three times.
connected to the power supply, the display lights up, indicating the 1% charge.
I tried to turn it back on and it came back on.
Update ontem and cell phone ficou bugado, internet not pega correctly, or wi-fi and data. Elef1ca giving umas falhas em vídeos es vezes não grava o som emáudios por exemplo. Horrível, estou preocupado se não vai sair nenhuma correção.
Hi, I just got the update notification last night, and official that they fixed it? I would not like to beat myself for assistance, especially in this difficult period .. thanks to those who have already updated and will respond
Hi Salvo, there are currently no reports after sending the new update.
But they didn't write anything about the data. If they get lost it's a big problem. Isn't there a way to get a new device? At least you lose less time and I don't have to bother to go to assistance, and I avoid sending a device with all my data, including fingerprints to unknown people, but clearly unreliable. I am a xiaomi fan of the first hour, I had all the A series, earphones, vacuum cleaners etc ... but for sure they won't see me after this one. This is not about customer support, more or less valid, but about (major) damage caused by... Read the rest »
There is no replacement of the device in any way, unfortunately.
Update: Xiaomi offers free out of warranty repairs for affected Mi A3 drives Android 11 update for Mi A3 has certainly had some major issues, which left users with a dead device. The company quickly became aware of the problem and halted the rollout before it could affect more users. For those affected, Xiaomi is now offering free repairs (/ solutions) unconditionally, regardless of the warranty. We are aware of the issue on some Mi A3 devices following a recent Android 11 update. We have since discontinued the introduction. We kindly ask users who are in this problem to visit... but don't you think there are the details for a possible compensation? my smartphone is not even a year old
A petition for possible compensation has come out: https://www.xiaomitoday.it/xiaomi-mi-a3-bloccato-petizione.html . You can try to sign it but it's not that much before today ...
Here is the link of the petition: http://chng.it/wYrfLPgk
Good morning. Unfortunately we fell into the same problem. I was offered the update this morning and after accepting the device it died.
We have no words, completely lost all data!
Has anyone in this chat managed to get feedback from xiaomi? Or is he able to help us?
Thank you very much!
Hi, same thing to me.
Contacted Xiaomi support and told me to take it to a partner center:
https://www.mi.com/it/service/repair/
Can you update us if you manage to solve it at the partner center? Thanks a lot!
I confirm, after installing the update to android 11 the hijacked device.
It doesn't even start with key combinations anymore.
Does Xiaomi not have to respond by replacing the phone?
I can't tell you how the brand should answer for these damages. You can try contacting support though
Hello,
thank you so much. I did and they told me to take it to a service center.
Maybe it's not completely lost.
thank you
Do you mind updating us as soon as they tell you something? So we are able to help other users. Thank you so much 😉
Sure,
if it's open I'll go tomorrow otherwise next week and I'll update you!
😉
¿Y a los que ya lo hayamos actualizado? Vaya cagada, nunca thought that a pudiera hacer esto actualización with an Android One terminal. I am new in this Android and I am imagining that an actualización no hay que use it porque enladrilla el terminal.
And what should Multinacional have to do in the face of a serious problem? Agora estou aqui, em plena véspera de 2021 sem um smartphone pra falar com a família. Que vacilo terrível!
Optimal! I updated and now my phone is locked. With the Android One screen fixed.
How can I reuse it?
Consulates we are two…. Mine too is so fixed Android One screen after 2 hours I forced to turn off the phone and dead black screen doesn't load just dead ...
Angelo I'm so sorry! We wrote as soon as possible but it was not enough. Unfortunately we are not aware of any way to go back, at least for now
Isn't there even a way to reset everything?
I repeat, unfortunately we are not aware of it
I also fell for it ... I have always had MI A # series and this is the first time that I happen to have a problem. do you think it can be recovered or should it be thrown away? thanks. louis
Try contacting an authorized service center. In my opinion they can solve with their tools
Yes, but they realize what they are doing…. The update is still available by forcing the search manually tried on the second one we have ... Now I hope they don't make a fuss in assistance ... Since even the pc doesn't see it ...
