Recently presented, the new 70 X-Series Xiaomi Mi TV 3 model goes into a top-selling market for the Chinese market. Its technical features, moreover, make it compete with the competition in the best way, even if it is equipped with some flaws. Recently, Xiaomi has released more information about the technical features of Xiaomi Mi TV 3 from 70 inches and in this article we will try to analyze them all.
We start immediately from the essence of a TV, or the display. As you surely know, it is produced by Sharp and has a 4K resolution. However, what has not been immediately said is that it has a viewing angle of well 176 °, is provided with a local dimming to 8 zone (brightness control) and unfortunately does not provide functionality neither 3D nor HDR. As for the maximum refresh rate, it is fixed to 120 Hz. The maximum contrast of the panel is 4.000: 1 and the response time is 6 milliseconds (not particularly suitable for action games and shooters).
From the software point of view, we find the presence of the MIUI TV platform based on Android Lollipop. The playback of both video and audio formats is virtually complete (RM, FLV, MOV, AVI, MKV, TS, MP4, MP3, FLAC, WAV and ALAC). Very important, there is the hardware decoding to the H.265 codec, which is essential for reproduction of movies in 4K.
Turning now to what runs all this well of God, namely the processor and the GPU, we find that on the Xiaomi Mi TV 3 from 7 'inch has been inserted the SoC MStar 6A928, consisting of a quad-core Cortex-A17 CPU with 1,4GHz frequency and a Mali-760 MP4 GPU. All of this is supported by 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage made up of XMUM XMMC flash memory.
All the hardware described here is present in the Mi TV Bar, which is also upgraded with new connections and future hardware upgrade capabilities through the MiPort.
The connections on the Mi TV Bar consist of 3 HDMI 2.0 infressi with HDCP 2.2, 2 USB ports, one of which is 3.0, 1 VGA input and a WiFi chip adhering to the 802.11 ac standard together with the Bluetooth 4.1 chip. There is also the presence of an RJ45 connector.
The Mi TV Bar also includes speakers. They are 2 tweeter from 20mm and 4 woofer from 6,35cm, with a frequency response between 60Hz and 22kHz. Optionally, the Mi Wireless Subwoofer is also available.
In short, Xiaomi wanted to put the best that the market can offer today even with some renunciation (we think of 3D and HDR).
