We've been talking about this for several months now, but it looks like we've almost come to an end. We are talking about the situation of Xiaomi Mi5, a true chimera that is always there for there to be presented (at least seconds the rumors and rumors that precede each event on a timely basis) but which eventually does not show up.
With the official presentation of Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, or SoC, which will equip the Xiaomi Mi5 inside, we believe mass production has already begun for a few weeks. Also, considering that the smartphone object of our attention today has recently been submitted to GFXBench for a test to evaluate its performance (it has as its "Gemini" code), we believe that we are there now.
Analyzing in detail the results obtained from the device on GFXBench, we find that 2140's single core result and multi-core 4762 result are among the best scores ever recorded by a smartphone. We also recall that, according to the specifications released by Qualcomm itself, Snapdragon 820 is able to improve graphics performance compared to the past generation (Snapdragon 810, also present on Xiaomi Mi Note Pro) of about 40%. Unfortunately, the test does not give us any confirmation on the other specifications except on RAM memory that should be from 3 GB.
At this point, we are hoping for a forecast made a few weeks ago by a Chinese analyst saying that, in order to try to get the most of its success, Xiaomi would do better to market Mi5 in time for Christmas holidays.
Before leaving, we want to remind you that the Xiaomi Mi5, being one of the first smartphones to equip the Snaodragon 820, should also be one of the first to equip an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
