Xiaomi Mi5 late also due to a Samsung Qualcomm deal?

As you surely know, the Xiaomi Mi5, initially designed to host the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, has been completely redesigned after the problems related to the overheating of the SoC to host the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. However, at the time of the re-design, it had not yet been completed and therefore the launch of the Mi5 has been postponed.

We recently found that this postponement could have been prolonged until April because of one pact between Samsung and Qualcomm. According to this rumor, the two giants would have entered into an exclusivity agreement regarding the supply of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 until the month of April.

To start this agreement would be Samsung's favorable prices with regard to SoC's own production in its own factories, exploiting the finFET machining process at 14 nm (currently the most advanced along with Intel). While Qualcomm has secured lower costs, Samsung may have been uncompromising at the time it markets its Samsung Galaxy S7.

In all this, Xiaomi is not the only manufacturer that comes out at a disadvantage but is still one of the most important. Before leaving you, we remind you that the Xiaomi Mi5 should also equip a fingerprint sensor that uses a very advanced feature of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, that is the support for ultra sounds | Xiaomi Mi5 Will Support Qualcomm Sense ID 3D Fingerprint? |.
