Xiaomi MIX Fold of the first generation debuted this year in China and, according to what confirmed by the PR of the company, it will not arrive in Europe. The same thing cannot be said of the second generation folding, which we will call for convenience MIX Fold 2. However, this does not mean that it will come: what we mean is that we do not know whether it will or not. In any case, for the moment it seems that some Chinese informant has got their hands on first specifications of the MIX Fold 2. So let's go see what awaits us next year with the second Xiaomi folding.

Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 will not be a different smartphone from the first: this is what emerges from the first information disclosed by a well-known whistleblower on Weibo. The Chinese social network, as we know, is full of the so-called leakers but this in particular seems to be quite reliable. According to the data, it appears that Xiaomi is working on an updated MIX Fold which appears to be more an upgrade rather than a MIX Fold 2 to all effects. More specifically, the leaker claims that the updated model will feature high refresh rate exterior and interior screens, recharge from 120W for a battery from 5.000 mAh and selfie camera under the display.
In comparison, the first generation model, namely Xiaomi MIX Fold, offers a high refresh rate only on the external screen, 67W of charging for the 5.020 mAh battery. However, it lacks any kind of selfie camera on the foldable screen. So these features would all be added (and welcome). A doubt remains: you really need a 120W on a smartphone like that? The prices are already prohibitive, plus if we put such advanced and exorbitant technology into it, we cannot imagine how much the cost for users will be.
In any case, Xiaomi would not be the first player to bring a selfie camera under the display on a foldable, since the Galaxy Z Fold 3 from Samsung already offers this option. But let's hope that Xiaomi's apparent implementation is harder to notice under the screen and offers better image quality. In the same way we also hope for one Global variant of Xiaomi MIX Fold 2. At least for collectors.
