Xiaomi has finally shown today a preview of its new foldable smartphone, lo Xiaomi MIX Fold 3", In collaboration with Leica, the famous German camera brand. The device will be launched in August, on the occasion of the annual speech of the founder and CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun.
Xiaomi MIX Fold 3: the teaser that makes folding with Leica cameras dream
The Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 is presented as the successor to the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 launched in August 2023. Compared to the previous model, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 promises to offer a series of improvements and innovations in various aspects, especially in the camera and in the screen.
The rear camera of the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 will consist of four sensors, including a main sensor from 108 megapixel with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 13 megapixel ultra-wide angle sensor, 12 megapixel periscope telephoto sensor with 10x optical zoom and a 8 megapixel depth sensor. All sensors were developed in collaboration with Leica, which provided its experience and quality in lens design and image processing. The Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 will therefore be able to capture exceptional photos and videos in any light condition and distance.
The screen of the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 will instead be formed by two flexible OLED panels, one 6,5 inch external with Full HD+ resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate, is one internal 8,01 inches with Quad HD+ resolution e 120 Hz refresh rate. The internal screen will also feature technology that eliminates visible creases when the device is open, ensuring smooth, even viewing. The internal screen it will also support stylus pen use, which will allow users to write, draw and annotate on their smartphone as well as on a tablet.
Under the hood, the MIX Fold 3 will mount the second generation Snapdragon 8 processor, the most powerful and advanced smartphone chip at the moment. The processor will be accompanied by 12 or 16 GB RAM and 256 or 512 GB internal memory. The smartphone will also be equipped with the Xiaomi Furious Engine, which will optimize processor performance according to user needs, avoiding drops in frame rate, image quality or brightness.
As for the battery, the MIX Fold 3 will have one total capacity of 5000mAh, divided into two 2500mAh cells each. The battery will support the 67W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging, allowing you to recharge your smartphone in less than an hour. The battery will also support wireless reverse charging, which will allow you to charge other compatible devices by placing them on the back of the smartphone.
Finally, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 will have excellent connectivity, thanks to support for 5G networks, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC. The smartphone will also have a Harman Kardon stereo speaker with Dolby Atmos and a fingerprint sensor built into the side power button.
The MIX Fold 3 will be available in two colors: black and silver. The price has not yet been officially revealed, but it is estimated to be around 2000 euros. The smartphone is sure to be one of the most coveted and desired of 2023, thanks to its combination of elegant design, stunning camera and versatile screen.
