Xiaomi: no more devices without 5G above 265 euros

To great surprise, unfortunately not positive, yesterday the news of the end of production by the Xiaomi company regarding the first penta camera from 108 MP, Mi Note 10 known in China as Mi CC9 Pro. information to enrich this decision, partly understandable if we marry Xiaomi's choice to proceed for the future in the development of devices with 5G technology.

Yes, because in China this new connectivity has a much higher rate of progress than the one we are experiencing in Europe and several times the Chinese OEM has announced that during 2020 it would have bet everything on 5G. On this basis, in fact, the recent Redmi Note 9 and 9 Pro devices have been judged by poco sense from Xiaomi itself, as they do not integrate the new connection technology and in fact it will not import smartphones at home, but adds more, as ideas for launching smartphones without 5G with a cost of more than 265 euros will no longer be considered.

Even the CEO of Redmi, Lu Weibing, confirms the news through a post on the Weibo social network, confirming the poco sense in the launch of smartphones without 5G, considering the wide spread of connectivity in China. In fact, India was the event venue for the presentation of the new Redmi mid-ranges, a country where this technology is not yet present and where, therefore, the interest in certain terminals is still high. On this basis, it is further confirmation that in China we will not see the new Redmi Note series but only the K30 Pro flagship, equipped with 5G.

Xiaomi: no more devices without 5G above 265 euros

Good news instead for the European market, where 5G is just in its infancy, therefore we should soon witness the debut of the new Redmi Note 9 and 9 Pro. Besides, for this series Europe represents one of the most profitable markets that have contributed to the success of the new Chinese brand.

But the scenario that is opening up is that in the near future we would no longer be dealing with "cheap" devices, because the parent company will focus on the development of smartphones with 5G technology. The end of life of many smartphones has already begun, as for the Mi Note 10, on which the company has focused heavily on marketing (just think of advertising on TV and being sponsored by VIPs like Diletta Leotta).

So will the future of the brand be to offer very expensive smartphones? Of course not, also because Xiaomi has set a minimum cost target of 265 euros, above which the terminals will all have 5G connectivity. In this way, Xiaomi will fully focus on promoting the advancement and implementation of 5G in China. So a poco less than 300 euros (exchange price in China) we will take home a device with the latest connectivity available on the market. But does all this really make sense? It is your responsibility to give the judgment, writing in the comments box below, as far as I'm concerned I prefer software optimization rather than anything else.
