Xiaomi is planning a massive entry into the South Korean market which, for the uninitiated, is the home of Samsung and LG. In order to immediately gain a dominant position, the Chinese giant will market its Smart TVs and all the new accessories recently presented | Xiaomi Mi Router 3, Mi Water Purifier 2 and Me Bluetooth Speaker Official |. Furthermore, we have discovered that it has recently patented a new system of mobile payments called Xiaomi Pay (it will also be known as Mi Pay).
This patent and this entry into the Korean market would be the main reason why Xiaomi has equipped the new Mi5 top of the NFC sensor. Consequently, the Xiaomi Mi5 will also be officially marketed in Korea.
We all learned this through a report published by the Korea Herald in which it is specifically quoted:
There is speculation that Xiaomi's upcoming mid-range smartphone Mi5 will feature the NFC mobile payment service. The patent filing in the Korean market indicates that the Chinese tech firm plans to roll out its smartphone here.
The thing would be strange if the Xiaomi Pay service was launched in Korea and not in China. However, in their own country, competition in this sector is becoming increasingly ironic, as both Apple and Samsung already have a strong presence.
