The foldable market will be destined to take over the market for devices with hidden camera under the display? It is a doubt that technology lovers continue to ask themselves but the answer is difficult. In both cases there are not indifferent problems: in the first we have the fragility of the folding screen and the difficulty in mass production (therefore very high price); in the second we also have a production problem but production could start next year “without problems”. Meanwhile, here's another patent Xiaomi showing a folding. Will he be the final one?
Will this be Xiaomi's final folding? Absolutely not: the engineers will continue to develop prototypes and patents to perfection on a daily basis
Clearly IT IS NOT' Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 as others want to believe. It is just another patent like the many that the brand presents every year at CNIPA (China National Intellectual Property Administration). This time, however, it is not a very simple leaflet but one hybrid smartphone which unites in itself the characteristics of a Galaxy Fold and a Xiaomi Mi MIX 3. Indeed, as can be seen from the sketches of LetsGoDigital, the device opens to booklet but has one scrolling screen as the last of the MIX series.
When the device is folded it looks like the previous patent, on the one hand full screen and on the one hand only with the rear cameras. When closed then the design is that of any smartphone. If you need the front cameras here, by using the slider mechanism to Xiaomi Mi MIX 3, the display goes down and reveals the dual front camera as well as the receiver. Unlike the MIX series device though. the part that goes down and therefore the display is really thin: this could be a problem due to the fragility of the crystals.
Here instead we see it open. Also in this case there is the possibility to make the display go down through a sliding mechanism but there is something strange: the smartphone has two screens, a small posteriorly it's one huge in the front. This is a usability advantage as it can be perfectly used both closed and open.
Personally I believe this is there definitive and optimal solution for a foldable smartphone. What do you think? Let me know in the comments.

I think the slider is completely useless. If the smartphone is open, just use one of the 4 cameras to take a selfie, right?
So you don't have a notch or hole on the front screen though, that's handy for that. In terms of functionality, I also don't agree with that
