Xiaomi Redmi 4 is official!

Xiaomi announced today the long-awaited Redmi 4, after the various renderings appeared on the net in recent days and the leaks of the technical specifications. The smartphone arrives just in time for the popular Chinese anniversary of double 11, one of the most famous "online shopping days" in the world.

Design

The design of the Redmi 4 is considerably different from that of its predecessors. The smartphone sports a metal body with its 2.5D glass on the front. The chassis just mentioned is produced by CNC machining, accompanied by the sandblasting process used on the back. The combination of the two techniques gives the device a look as refined as that of many high-end devices. On the back there is the fingerprint sensor, located below the camera. The antenna bands are melted inside the metal body by the injection molding process. The colors available are silver, gold and dark gray.

Specifications

The Redmi 4 features a 5-inch Full HD display. There are two versions of the smartphone: the first, more powerful, is equipped with the octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor, 3 Gb of RAM and 32 Gb of ROM. The chip in the second version is instead the Snapdragon 430. The latter is accompanied by 2 Gb of Ram and 16 Gb of ROM. Both versions feature MicroSD slots and are powered by a 4,100mAh battery.

The 13 Mpx rear camera is equipped with PDAF and LED flash, while the front 5 Mpx camera. other noteworthy features are Dual SIM support, support for all networks (including 4G), dual-band Wi-Fi and infrared remote control. The operating system is Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 interface.

Price

The latest addition to the Redmi series maintains a relatively low cost, despite the upgrades and revised design. The price of the basic version equipped with SnapDragon 430 chip is 699 Yuan (95 euros), while the high-end version will cost 899 Yuan (120 euros).
