But what is Wi-Fi 6 and how will it work compared to what we use today?
Not only smartphones: Xiaomi also presents a router compatible with the Wi-Fi 6 standard
The news of the arrival of this new router comes directly from the company. Other channels Weibo like that of the CEO Lei Jun or PR of the brand then shared the news on the same social network. The only poster showing the name of the product is the one you find below: it will be called “Xiaomi AIoT router AX3600".

As we can see, the advertising poster allows us to notice one new form compared to previous routers but above all to understand that it will be equipped with 7 antennas. This is due to the implementation of the Wi-Fi standard 6, which among other improvements is capable of generate different transmission channels in order to avoid and "get around" if we want to say it in poor terms, the network congestion when there are multiple devices connected at the same time.
As we previously told you, this new standard mainly uses le OFDMA and MU-MIMO technologies, which allow to maintain the highest performances also in heavy traffic scenarios and to reach one maximum download speed of 9.6 Gbps: this is only possible thanks to thesimultaneous use of multiple frequencies, unlike the previous WiFi 5 (WiFi AC) standard which uses the 802.11n standard. Finally there will be the BSS Color technology which will limit interference between different networks in the same space (source).

Unfortunately there is no other data available except the "generic" data regarding the whole technology: we expect that in the coming days, close to the presentation, Xiaomi give us additional information about your new router Wi-Fi 6. At present there are already on the market products belonging to this particular range: both for technology and for diffusion they are still very expensive. Who knows if Xiaomi will also be able to make this product palatable for our market.
