Xiaomi's public relations department general manager Wang Hua posted on Weibo today that Beijing Satellite TV visited the construction site of the second phase of the Xiaomi Smart Factory project. Construction is approximately 60% complete.
According to reports, Xiaomi plans to enter the first production line of the smartphone factory at the end of June and start installation and commissioning. Indeed, the brand must complete the installation and commissioning of two smartphone production lines by the end of the year. Xiaomi expects the second phase of the "smart factory" project to be completed and delivered by the end of 2023, and all phone production lines are expected to be installed in July 2024.
According to previously announced information from Xiaomi, the project mainly includes three large functional sections: Xiaomi Smart Factory (M1 project), Xiaomi Future Industrial Park and Xiaomi Innovation and Research Center (M4 project). An intelligent industrial park that covers the entire production, release, application and demonstration process and integrates multiple business formats.
"This year, smartphone factories and high-tech laboratories will enter the stage of mechanical and electrical equipment installation and clean engineering construction." Xiong Wei, deputy general manager of Xiaomi Group's engineering management department, said that various engineering projects are currently advancing steadily. The factory (project M1) is expected to be delivered and put into operation by the end of 2023. Xiaomi Future Industrial Park and Xiaomi Innovation and Research Center (project M4) are expected to be completed and put into operation by the end of 2024.
