Xiaomi smartwatch not only to open cars, but also to command them

The project Xiaomi Cars proceeds at full speed. In the last period we have seen that the first electric car of the brand could integrate some cameras on the roof. However, the news will not affect the vehicle directly. In fact, in recent years digital keys are becoming more and more popular. These are "dummy" keys integrated into a smartphone application that allow you to open remotely (or not) the car. Well, apparently Xiaomi Auto can also be opened thanks to the smartphone and more. The patent that we will see speaks precisely of vehicle drive.

Xiaomi presents a patent which provides the basic command of a car. The company's Xiaomi Auto will open and turn on with the wrist

Inside the portal of the Patent Office of the People's Republic of China, known as China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) or even as the Chinese Patent Office, we have found traces of a new patent concerning the Xiaomi Auto project. Specifically, the patent with number CN114368357A shows the ability to use the smartwatch (generally any smart wearable device) for check the vehicle. This is not a simple command to remotely open or close the car, but an even greater possibility, namely that of turn on (or start, in the specific case of an electric car) or turn off the vehicle.

In the beginning of the patent we read that it is possible put some sort of alarm on the wearable user, after which the vehicle will turn on. However, the description does not stop there. In fact, again through the company's wearable, it will also be possible to send a much broader command, namely the path that the user will have to take. Basically, a route will be sent from the smartwatch or smartband to the on-board computer of the electric car. In this way there will be no need to use the latter to go to a certain place.

At the moment, Xiaomi is actively recruiting staff for the electric car project. For example, this year part of the employees working on MIUI will be transferred to the automotive division. The company is now building a factory on the outskirts of Beijing. According to what the company itself has previously stated, the production capacity of the main factory will allow to put on the market 150.000 vehicles per year.
