In fact, particular attention was dedicated during the conference to the ecosystem of the Internet of Things, where Xiaomi in recent years has collected considerable successes thanks to its home automation devices able to communicate with each other and with our smartphone.

Xiaomi Vela is the a new IoT software platform based on NuttX OS
Let's start with the choice of the name, that is Vela which identifies the typical sail of boats, as evidenced by the logo chosen for the new platform. Behind this lies the meaning that Xiaomi Vela wants to represent for all developers, that is to overcome the obstacles that can be encountered by working on different platforms, therefore Xiaomi Vela will be precisely the indication of the right way to go in the vast IoT ecosystem that includes smartwatches, smart speakers, appliances and much more.
Getting to the heart of the new Xiaomi Vela platform, this will be based on the open source operating system NuttX OS, whose kernel manages the basic operations as well as communication between the various platforms and file systems. Inside the management software we find device drivers, communication protocols and those relating to energy management, while the framework will manage aspects related to graphics, OTA updates, scripting languages etc..
