Although until a few days ago we believed that the 10 Maggio event would have reserved "only" the Xiaomi Max and the MIUI 8 (maybe even the Mi Band 2 but not sure), we recently discovered that the Chinese giant Xiaomi has something more in store for us. In fact, it seems that the Xiaomi Yi Camera 2 will also be presented during the event, of which some information slides were leaked on the net a few hours ago.
The second generation of Xiaomi Yi Camera will not only bring improvements from the point of view of technical characteristics but will also introduce aesthetic changes, starting with the implementation of a small 2,19-inch LCD display, with 640 x 360 resolution (330 ppi) , 160 ° viewing angle and protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass.
As for the technical aspect of the new action cam, the photo sensor chosen by Xiaomi is the Sony IMX377. This is the same sensor chosen by Huawei and Google for the Nexus 6P. For the uninitiated, it has a maximum resolution of 12 Mpixel and, although it is lower than that of the first generation, the focusing system and the lenses guarantee a much higher quality.
As for the processor capable of processing images (ISP), we find an Ambarella A9 chip. The battery inserted inside will have a capacity of 1400 mAh (against the 1000 mAh of the current version) and will be able to guarantee (according to Xiaomi) up to 8 hours of autonomy on a single charge and up to 110 minutes of 4K video recording at 30 fps.
In short, Xiaomi is trying to renew a large part of its catalog at 10 May and we, from passionate users, can not but be happy. Unfortunately, at the moment we do not know the selling price that this Xiaomi Yi 2 Camera will have.
