We have a preview of what gaming will look like on YouTube, thanks to the new Playables | feature Photo

September marked Google's announcement of a new feature called YouTube Playables. This will allow users to immediately launch some games directly into the YouTube app, eliminating the need to download additional software. Google initially launched early access to a limited number of users, but now we officially know how it will work.

Games on YouTube are real: here's what they look like

YouTube Playables focuses mainly on titles suitable for devices furnishings, although it is also available on desktop. The list of games includes titles such as “Extreme Scooter","state.io","Brain out“, and others, offering a variety that ranges from puzzle games to strategy games. This selection, though not including AAA games of great depth, promises to satisfy a wide range of tastes and preferences.

The demo, available until March 28, hints at a wider rollout in the coming months, giving users a taste of what the YouTube gaming feature has in store.

With the introduction of Playables, YouTube enters cdirect competition with similar proposals such as the Netflix series GAMES, aiming to become a point of reference for streaming gaming. Google's strategy with YouTube games seems geared towards taking advantage of YouTube's vast user base by offering an immediate gaming experience, accessible with one click.

Although the platform is not yet aimed at the most demanding titles on the market, its ease of use and accessibility could attract a diverse audience, from enthusiasts to the most frequent gamers.

It is worth noting that Netflix, although its core business is elsewhere, has focused heavily on the gaming sector. In fact, on the dedicated section of the Play Store, there are now dozens of also branded games like those dedicated to Stranger Things (Netflix branded TV series). This could mean that YouTube Playables will integrate more substantial games in the future, competing as much as possible with the streaming platform.
