China Mobile Chinese customers who were expecting to buy a "big size" phone from Xiaomi will now be able to direct their attention to the Redmi series top range, the Redmi Note.
When Xiaomi announced the Redmi Note with 5.5-inch display, it stated that the same would be made in two versions, but, until now, we had witnessed the launch of only the 799 Yuan (about 94 euro) entry-level model, equipped of 1GB of RAM and 1.4 Ghz processor. The "staggered launches" have always been part of Xiaomi's strategy and now Chinese Mobile users will be able to opt for the Top version of the Xiaomi Redmi Note, that is the one equipped with 2GB of RAM, and 1.7Ghz octacore processor, the tuotto a 999 Yuan (about 117 euros).
This version is compatible with connectivity TD-SCDMA, therefore not with our European 3G networks. For the WCDMA 3G version we international customers can only hope for the next Xiaomi launch event on May 15th.
