Xiaomi's CEO, Lei Jun, had previously said that "Going into space with a smartphone is not a simple matter. Furthermore, the problem of the extreme environment arises, with a temperature from minus 30 to minus 70 degrees during the journey ”.
Lei Jun added that “The idea of launching a smartphone into space and then taking a photo of the earth with the device's camera is pure madness! We have worked hard and hard, solving countless problems. But in the end, thank goodness, we did it! ".
Xiaomi later reported that more than 100 engineers took 168 days to overcome 343 technical problems.
