Have you ever thought that politics could hide behind the smartphone market? Unfortunately it seems that what is happening in the USA where CIA, FBI and NSA during a hearing before the US Senate Intelligence Committee they have raised an alarm, proclaiming not to buy smartphones of Chinese origin.
The alarm concerns in particular, the Huawei and ZTE brands and also our beloved Xiaomi, and specifically CIA, FBI and NSA indicate the smartphones produced by these companies like potentially harmful to national security. The reason for this statement stems from the fact that according to the agencies the smartphones of Chinese origin are adapted to modify or steal information, thus allowing a sort of espionage.
Given that it is not new that in some terminals are lurking malware with the aim of stealing information or other criminal actions, but it seems rather absurd and partly racist as stated by Chris Wray, head of the FBI, who says it is dangerous to allow companies controlled by foreign governments to enter the American TLC infrastructure.
However, the company replicates Huawei claiming the utmost trust in customers, but at the same time brings out the real reason behind these thrust claims. A completely commercial reason designed to inhibit the business of foreign companies on the American territory. If we think of the recent news in which the largest mobile companies in the 2017 have collapsed except for Xiaomi and Huawei, but also the probable official landing of the two companies through partnerships with local telephony providers, or the next IPO landing of Xiaomi, no wonder the US government is trying to undermine and discredit Chinese companies in modp to safeguard its economy from a real invasion that in a short time could lead to a collapse of the symbol of the American mobile phone identified in the Apple company.
In a sense it is quite sad this news if we think that Huawei, Xiaomi and ZTE enjoy the trust of users in 170 countries around the world without ever having received allegations related to cyber security. And what do you think?
