We continue our comparison between Xiaomi Mi5 and OnePlus 3, two of the smartphones that have the best value for money at the moment. On yesterday's day we showed you a direct comparison of the two devices while we now show you a comparison of the fast recharging technologies of the two with the addition of the "third inconvenient", namely the Samsung Galaxy S7.
These three smartphones use three different types of quick charging:
- Xiaomi Mi5 uses the Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 standard
- Samsung Galaxy S7 uses the Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 standard (to avoid making too much distinction to the model equipped with SoC Exynos)
- OnePlus 3 leverages proprietary Dash Charge technology
The results that these combinations of technologies produce are quite distant among themselves, which benefits or not a smartphone against each other. Xiaomi Mi5 eventually turns out to be "mezzano", that is, the smartphone that stands in the middle, with its own result, to the other two competitors. Each test was conducted by having the smartphones all the 10% of residual battery.
- After 30 minutes of recharging: OnePlus 3 at 75%, Xiaomi Mi5 at 57% and Samsung Galaxy S7 at 52%
- Full charge: OnePlus 3 in 60 Minutes, Xiaomi Mi5 in 71 Minutes and Samsung Galaxy S7 in 90 Minutes
Obviously, these results are also influenced by the total battery capacity. It's clear that the bigger is and the more time it will take to recharge.
