Alldocube Iplay 50 lite a tablet to buy without any doubt!

As I always say, the use of tablets has increasingly lost interest given the continuous increase in smartphone displays which have now reached the 7″ threshold (remember that the first tablets were 8″). Despite this, I must admit that having a tablet is always convenient because viewing our favorite contents (social media, games, videos, etc.) is still another thing if enjoyed on larger displays, say 10". This is the reason why the offer always remains unchanged, new models are always placed on the market and we obviously bring you our experience on those where we "get our hands on". Today this is the case of the Alldocube Iplay 50 Lite, a device that has its own reason, especially if evaluated based on the price at which you can take it home. Alldocube is a Chinese brand that has been making its mark on the international market for some years now for the production of tablets and laptops.

CONFEZIONE

The package does not reserve any great positive surprises but fortunately not even negative ones:

  • Alldocube Iplay 50 Lite tablet
  • 5V x 2A (10W) power supply
  • USB Type A – Type C charging cable
  • Clip for opening SIM – MicroSD tray
  • Quick instruction booklet (including Italian)

AESTHETICS AND DIMENSIONS

From an aesthetic point of view I have to say that I really like it! Well made entirely of aluminum alloy it only weighs 466Gr and is often alone 8.4 mm! This thickness combined with the weight gives us an excellent grip and a wonderful feeling of comfort when we hold it in our hand. I assure you that the weight, when we talk about any mobile device, must absolutely be taken into consideration. If too heavy, we risk tiring our hands and wrists with prolonged use, especially if we intend to have long gaming/social/video sessions, so the 50 Lite is also heavy in this respect. To close on the dimensions I report the height and width which are respectively 157.8 mm e 248 mm.

On the back we find the trolley for the microSD and the microphone, on the right side a speaker, volume rocker, power button and on the left side USB Type C, entrance jack from 3.5mm and speaker. You can therefore easily guess that the sound will be stereo, good for all those who love videos and TV series that you can watch in very high definition (I'll tell you about it in the software section). Very good and note of merit to Alldocube for the presence of the 3.5mm Jack, now a rare commodity but always requested by the majority of users.

HARDWARE

The hardware present on our Iplay 50 ProCompared to its competitors, it is certainly very good and doesn't leave us missing almost anything. Let's start with the processor Allwinner A523, Octa-core(Cortex A55×[email protected]), 8 cores, 8 threads, a decent processor that made its debut on the market in Q3 2023 supported by 8Gb of RAM memory (4GB physical + 4GB virtual). As for the integrated memory we find 128Gb expandable via microSD up to 512Gb.

The Type C input is for charging the tablet but can also be used as a OTG and data transfer. The battery is from 6200mAh and guarantees us approximately 7 hours of display on. Charging is quite slow, only 10W, it will take about 2 hours to recharge it from 0 to 100%.

DISPLAY

The display is a panel IPS da 10.36" with excellent resolution, 2K, from 2000 x 1200p, 225Ppi The colors are well balanced, and we will also have three different settings to use according to our preferences. We will be able to change the size of the characters, of everything displayed, make it bold, increase the contrast, manually set brightness, contrast, saturation, reading mode option, etc.. in short, many settings that will certainly allow us to find the best one for our tastes personal.

It's really enjoyable to enjoy videos at maximum definition and the small frames make everything even more enjoyable. I haven't found data on brightness but outdoors on particularly sunny days you can still read without major problems. In any case it would be better to use it indoors or at least not in direct sunlight.

AUDIO

The audio is stereo thanks to the 2 speakers on the right and left "short" side. The low frequencies are obviously poor and to obtain good sound quality you certainly have to "tinker" a bit with some equalization applications. Even the maximum volume is not very high, ergo it is not your tablet if you are looking for perfect audio for listening to music or watching music videos. Let's also say that all the tablets I have tried are a little subdued from this point of view. Always consider that as a DJ I pay a lot of attention to detail, probably for 90% of users it will be more than fine. In any case, if necessary, you can connect a BT speaker to it and you will also have the best in the audio sector (here is an excellent tip: https://xiaomi.today/39nnmxe)

SOFTWARE

The operating system we find is Android 13, I can't tell you whether or not it will be updated to 14 but even so we can't complain. In fact, it is easy to find older versions of Android on similar products. As always on these products the UI is practically without any particular customizations but here we find some interesting gems. The first one I want to talk to you about is the possibility of setting the tablet's on and off times. I must say that it is the first time that I have found it, it is usually present on Chinese phones such as Oppo, Xiaomi, OnePlus etc and not also present on products such as the Google Pixel 8. For me it is an essential functionality that allows me to keep the de vice off at night but don't miss my morning alarm. In fact, all you need to do is turn it on automatically one minute earlier.

Another really important thing is compatibility with Widevine L1 and this guarantees us the very high definition vision of our streaming multimedia contents. It will therefore be perfect for watching films in maximum resolution (4K) from Netflix, Prime Video, Disney Plus, etc.

The ability to navigate via gestures is also very good, which is absolutely not a given on tablets, and also the ability to take screenshots/record the screen via gestures.

For the rest, nothing to complain about, fairly fluid system, (light) multitasking ok, some small lag which does not affect good responsiveness in everyday use.

CONNECTIONS

Here we find one of the necessary sacrifices to keep the price of this product really below the average of the competitors. There is no 4G LTE connection, so it will not be possible to connect with a data SIM. It must be said that nowadays, with mobile offers that give away an average of 100Gb per month, it is not a lack that is felt... it will in fact be usable via hotspot from our phone. However, the dual band 802.11b/g/n/ac/ax Wi-Fi connection is good 2.4 / 5GHz is that BlueTooth 5.2. The latter is particularly important as it will allow us to listen to music in very high quality and TWS.

CAMERAS

The multimedia department is completed with the two cameras, a 5Mpx selfie camera and an 8Mpx main one. The rear one has autofocus, while the front one has fixed focus. However, no problem for any video calls. The quality of the cameras is in line with those of its competitors, don't bring your tablet to take important photos... I won't add anything else. In any case, I'll leave you some shots to give you an idea about it.

AUTONOMY

We could obviously discuss battery life for days as it will change based on many variables, the type of Internet connection and of course which applications we use (playing Real Racing is one thing and browsing our FB home page is another). The maximum performance I achieved, with a fixed Wi-Fi connection and mixed use between games and social media, is approximately 6.5 hours with the screen on therefore absolutely satisfactory.

PROJECTED IMPACT

As always, the final aspect to draw conclusions is certainly the price. This Alldocube Iplay 50 Lite it costs, in the 128Gb version, €149 but thanks to Banggood (thank you for sending the sample) and with our discount code you can take it home at less than 100 €! And objectively, at this price, it's a really good deal.

As I told you above, the tablet in question has no particular critical issues. It is a good product for browsing our social networks, enjoying multimedia content such as music, films and TV series where we remind you, it will allow you to see everything in maximum definition thanks to full compatibility with Widevine L1. It will also be good for any games that don't require particularly heavy graphics processing.

The only absence, in my opinion poco account, is that of the telephone module which will not allow us to insert a data SIM and therefore use it without a W-Fi connection. I would like to remind you that if we want a tablet with a 4G/5G connection we will then have to sign another telephone contract to obtain a data SIM. So, if you need to use it connected sometimes even outside the home, the optimal solution is to connect it via hotspot with your phone. Of course, if your focus is on having it always online even when you're out and about, then perhaps you should look for another model.

Below is the link to purchase it at a reduced price. Delivery will take place in approximately 15 working days and you will be protected from annoying customs duties. I remind you about that GOOD BANG it will be possible to pay, to protect your purchases, with PayPal.
