
After confirming the name of the ASUS ROG Phone 5, the Taiwan-based company has just unveiled the launch date of its next gaming phone.

The ROG Phone 5 will be unveiled at a launch event that will take place at 19:00 (UTC + 8) in Taipei, at 24:00 (UTC + 1) in Europe, while in New York it will start at 6:00 (UTC +). 8) of 9 March.
The official page did not reveal any details on why we switched from ROG Phone 3 to ROG Phone 5, but it seems that the company has decided to skip number 4 as it is considered a bad omen in China.
As for specs, the ASUS ROG Phone 5 is expected to feature a 6,78-inch OLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate. It will then be equipped with a Snapdragon 888 mobile chip and could be available in two configurations with 8GB and 16GB RAM. TENAA certification also revealed to us that it has a 6.000mAh dual-cell battery and is likely to support 65W fast charging.
For photography, we will find three cameras including a 64 megapixel main one. It also has a small secondary display on the back.
Now we just have to wait a few weeks to find out the availability globally, as well as the selling price.
